Our trip to Seattle

Our kids surprised us with a trip to Seattle for my birthday! My mom and I share the same birthday and since it was her 90th the kids decided that we should go! What a great surprise that was! Thanks so much to everyone! You are the best kids in the world and I am so grateful to be your mom!
Levi ~Becca and the kids drove over from Spokane for the weekend. It was so fun to see them! We hadn't seen Baby Brig since Oct! It turned out to be a family reunion...because all of my brother's came too! It was so fun! The last time we were all together was at my dad's funeral 5 years ago! So it was awesome!

Audrey and Abby were glad to see Grandpa! They immediately decked him out with a lovely flower in his hair!

Here is Baby Brigham... he was born in Oct and we haven't seen him since! He is a darling baby and so good and sweet as he can be!

My mom was really excited to see everyone! She can't remember anyone's name for long...but she really loved the company! Especially the tiny ones.

She doesn't see little ones very often...so it was a real treat for her! These kids snuggled and loved her good!

Me with the two little girls...

Audrey really took to Grandma...
Big kiss for Granny Great.
Abby is so gentle and sweet with her.
Hal got her in the living room and sat down to read to her! She could remember a lot of old things...not so much recently!

Happy Birthday to Us!

What a fun weekend! We had EVERYONE there at the party! So unusual for our family! It seems like someone is always missing. Here we are! All seven kids and Mom! (actually these pics comprise two nights of fun)

This is a photo of our beautiful mom... back in the early 40's.

My adorable nephew Brett- Todd's son and his new fiance Kristen! They got engaged on the Friday night we got there! Todd helped Brett plan an amazing dinner and surprise for her! We were so excited to finally meet her! What an amazing young woman she is! Brett converted her and she is something really special! We sure love both of you and can't wait until they get married in August!

Random Pics of the trip

Taking pictures with Mom..

What a beautiful mom she is...
I am not sure what happen here but Audrey is NOT happy....
Hal is trying to cheer her up...but it isn't happening....
That look... whoa...look out Hal!
This is the cutest pout I have ever seen...
The Bellevue Chapel. My parents have gone to this ward for over 30 years.
I have so many memories of things that have taken place here. My most favorite memory was just seeing my dad always waiting for us in the foyer after we were done with classes. He was just always there so it is really hard for me to go to the ward and not see have him just waiting for us...

We had a bit of a "crime" in the hotel... a domestic dispute that kept us out of our room and away from our bags all night... it was very interesting! We left Becca's and Levi's room to go back to ours about 11:30 and came upon a CSI! It was all roped off with yellow tape and broken glass and more EVERYWHERE! It was kinda scary. It was a good thing we had stayed downstairs to watch the Olympics with them...because as it turns out... it must have started right in front of our door...due to the wet spot in front of
our door- as they had tried to clean up some of the evidence! Yuk!

Here is the hippie Grandpa... Abby and Audrey love to dress him up!
You should hear the giggles... they thought he was sleeping!
Then on Monday morning we went down to Seattle for a bit ... and hit Pike's Market. Such a fun place to go!

Becca and I at the fish counter...

Audrey was sure that fish was really going to get her...she kept her eye on it the entire time!
Audrey was sure this pig was real! She sat on it...but got a bit panicky so Grandpa jumped on to show her it was ok...
We can't go to a Big City without a trip to H&M... unfortunately.. it didn't have a kids dept! Sad... but think of the money we saved?

Levi was the camera guy all weekend! Thanks Lev!

Valentine Cookie Party

I realized that we wouldn't be home for Valentines Day and decided last minute...I wanted to frost some Valentine Cookies with whatever kids I could get to come! Thinking I was so smart ... I ran out to get some already baked cookies..at Granny B's and they were totally sold out! So I raced home and had to bake some really fast! They turned out...pretty darn good! Ya gotta love a easy recipe!

Here are the finished cookies... they are soft and yummy too!
