Pine Nuts!
Every fall for as long as I can remember I would get my dad a sack of pinenuts. I would send them up to him in Seattle and he would call me so excited! He LOVED pinenuts! Now everytime I see a package of them it brings tears to my eyes. I know how much he would enjoy them and it always makes me miss him even more! What a great memory. I sure do love and miss you Dad!

Conference Sunday!
Conference Sunday ~ Waffles Strawberries and Ice Cream! What a fun tradition! This year we got together and had our yummy treat. It is delicious and decadent! A Great breakfast twice a year! (at least!)

Hal dishing his up!

So YUMMY!

Preston woke up and said " Oh good...It's conference!" I think he was thinking about waffles! That kid loves food so much! He is so fun to make treats for! Last Thanksgiving everyone was done eating and off doing other things...and he was still sitting right up to the table eating away! He just loves to eat good food! Preston you are so fun to feed!

Oaks loves this tradition!

Sadie is our little purest. She just loves syrup and butter!

This year we had a great crop of apples! I love watching them grow and this year they looked so beautiful on the trees... Hal took such good care of them and they are so delicious! ! Thanks honey!
What can we do with apples? Well we got busy and made Applesauce and Carmel Apples! Yummy! It is so rewarding to see the bottles all full and as you will see... Grandkids that LOVE Carmel Apples!

Here is our tree of Red Delicious!

Golden Delicious (my very favorite!)

My adorable farmer hiding in the trees!

I love those full boxes...So many ideas of what to make!

Such good helpers!

Here I am with Heather... check out my "Ho Ho Ho" apron... wrong season... but it was clean!

All done and in the bottles!

Then yesterday some of the other grandkids arrived. We saved them a couple of branches to pick. They got quite a few! Then we headed inside to make Caramel Apples!

Aunt Geniel and Uncle Jim
After many years of waiting and praying...we were able to attend the temple sealing session for Hal's Uncle Jim and Aunt Geniel in the Provo Temple!
Uncle Jim (one of our favorite uncles)has been a Catholic all his life and throughout many years of living among LDS people and being loved by them...he finally chose to be baptized last Sept. It was an amazing day! When he came up out the the water... a cheer went up in the room! It was awesome! Everyone clapped and hollered! It wasn't quite the moment you would have expected but they joy we felt was unbelievable! I am sure heaven was cheering too! Everyone knew it would happen some day but to finally see it was a true miracle! To have him finally embrace the gospel has been so wonderful to witness! Aunt Geniel had faith it would happen and finally they were blessed with two darling sister missionaries that final "GOT HIM"! He promised them that he would have them flown in to witness their sealing... but they were both still in Utah! So on September 28, 2009 in the Provo Temple ~ Jim and Geniel were sealed for Time and all Eternity! Their daughter Jenny also went through the temple and was sealed to them as well as their son Jimmy that died several years ago.It was one of those days that you hope and pray for!

These are the cute missionaries that finally got him to commit!

Random Pictures from our weekend!
This was a great weekend with Amy and Brett and the kids! It was Hunter's 12th Birthday and it was a really special birthday! On Sunday we got to be there when he was ordained a deacon. It was so awesome to witness such a special event. We are so proud of you Hunter and we love you so much! Heavenly Father has given us such a wonderful family and we are so grateful that you are part of it! You are such a great example to all the little cousins! We love you!
