A Fun Day at Thanksgiving Point!
We thought we would check out the "Two Dollar Tuesday's" at Thanksgiving Point...and when we got there we found a line for the Dinosaur Museum that wrapped around the building...probably a couple of hundred people ahead of us...so we opted for the Farm. It was a lot of fun and the kids loved the animals! The baby goats were a hit and Abby almost took the cow home... Macie loved the water spigot... the kids loved the jail! We finished up with lunch at Subway with bags of dinosaurs for all! It was a fun afternoon.

Millie Anne Marchbanks is on her way!

Here is the latest ultrasound on Ryan and Heather's new baby girl due in Dec. Such a beautiful little face... (of course I am the grandma) We live in an amazing time... Ryan was the first baby I was able to have an ultrasound on and it didn't look anything like this....they thought they could tell he was a boy... but they weren't positive! Now 30 years later look what amazing technology we have! We can't wait for her arrival...but stay safe in mommy Millie until you are baked really well!

Thanks Uncle Ryan!
What a fun afternoon we spent on the shores of Tibble Fork Reservoir! It was such a beautiful day and the breeze was so welcome! Thanks to Ryan for bringing all his "secret bait" and helping the kids have a day they won't soon forget! Every single one of them (with help from their dad and mom too) caught at least one fish! They would cast that pole out...and reel them in! It was so much fun to see the expressions on their faces! It is a memory I will always cherish!
This is my favorite! Look at Nate... He is as excited as Preston!
Look at that fish! Great job Presto!
This is one of about 3 Oakley caught!
Hold on Trey! It's coming!
Trey caught the biggest fish of the DAY!
We are planting Grandma's Magic Donut Seeds!
When you are camping a fun thing to do...is to grow donuts! No one believed it could be done but they were willing to give it a try!
For donuts to grow... you have to plant the magic seeds (Honey Nut Cheerios) and then put a stick in the ground for the donut to grow on. You must put the stick in the ground by the seeds.
Here are the kids painting their own sticks.....

Abby and Preston

Oaks

Sadie and Trey

Here are all of the seeds and the sticks planted! Good job kids!

Now lets watch and see what happens! Actually it takes a few hours or even a day for them to grow.... keep watching! It usually takes a few hours... but it is completely magic!

Oh My Gosh! Look at that ... the donuts GREW! I can't believe it! How did that happen?

These are the yummiest donuts ever! You have to try this... It is amazing!

There is one in this group that looks a bit suspicious of his Grandma!

Now we need to plant the seeds and the stick... you may notice if you are a plant lover or hater that the only soft spot of ground we could find was next to a lovely patch of stinging nettle. Actually I have heard that is the best place to grow them! It makes the donuts much sweeter!
Here is grandpa helping get the sticks to stand up in the ground.

Spur of the Moment Camping Trip!
It is so great to live close to the Canyon! Jenny and Nate decided to get a camping spot on Wednesday...and so Hal and I ran up and got the last spot that was left and luckily it was right next to Jenny and Nate's. We left on Thursday night after work and on the way up realized that we had left the trailer keys in Hal's truck... so he thought he would drop me off with Jenny and Nate and then go back and get the keys. When we got there...they had loaded up the kids and were about to leave to go home and get a good nights sleep. The racoon's had kept them up the night before. So we left and went home to sleep! We went up again on Friday afternoon and most of the kids showed up for dinner! It was a fun night. I found a new dutch oven dessert recipe and thought I would give it a try to celebrate Ryan's birthday. It was chocolate cake with marshmallows and carmels and the batter was really yummy! Well it said to cook it for 20 mins... with low heat... after 20 mins... Batter... hmmm? Ok so I added a bunch of coals and upped the heat... after about 2 hours of that I finally gave up. It was yummy goop...but that was about it! I guess I should stick to the recipes that I know! Thanks for trying it Oakley! You are a good sport! (He always has such great faith in me.)

The camping trip ended up being so much fun! We loved every minute! Wish we could have had the whole family with us... we sure miss Amy and Brett's family and Lizzy and Dallas!
