Magic Moments...

Abby and Audrey were kinda bored...so we decided to have a quick picnic...out back. We are running out of summer... you know!

Learning to jump on the swing!

Our little dare devil!
Making faces at Grandpa

Our picnic....
Then Abby wanted to show me that she had learned to climb a tree. It was pretty exciting for her! As she was posing up that tree for a picture she spied a snake sunning himself and she was so excited! She got down and yelled for Grandpa to come and help her get him... (I stop at touching snakes). Hal came over and then the fun began.
A little lady posing in the tree on her very first "climb"!

Here is the snake... just hanging out in the grass!

"Pick him up Grandpa!"

Both Abby and Audrey were enthralled... they just wanted to touch him and feel his skin.

They couldn't get enough!

Touching some more!

Touching his "tummy"!
I love random moments when you make memories. If we can just take those few minutes to slow down and take a minute to "smell the roses" or "feel the snakes" our lives would be so much richer! It was a busy day but I am so glad we just stopped and took the "time"...

Lindon Days

Last night after the game... Jen's boys came home with us and had a "sleep" over...(sleep? yeah right!) Then early this morning we got up and went up to Lindon Park for the annual Lindon Day's breakfast! Such a fun morning! The kids explored the new Heritage Trail under State street and found lots of things to climb on! Then we went up to Main Street and found a place on the parade route! Anyone that knows me - should know how much I love a parade. (I usually have to bribe someone into coming with me) We have been coming to this parade since our kids were little...but today was my favorite of all times! It just seemed that many of the things that are so important to me came together for a brief moment and made my heart swell. It started off with the new Lindon Police Dept carrying the American Flag and then continued on with one of the Lindon Stakes with all of their scouts, cub scouts and leaders in their uniforms carrying the US Flag. It was so beautiful! Nothing makes me more grateful and proud than to see that beautiful flag! Then the mayor and city council (people we love) Pleasant Grove High School band....my beautiful Whitney as Miss Utah...(one of my former Little Miss Lindon's) - my Miss Pleasant Grove girls this year and lots of friends. It was a wonderful parade. It made me so proud to be in this little community that has pride and love for the city and for each other! It was so fun to see old friends and get a quick hug! I love having kids with me... of course! They all got an ice cream bar from our dear friend Nick Harris and so much candy they could hardly carry it all! It was a wonderful morning and after all the parades I have been to this year... This one in the smallest town of all was the very BEST! I love living in Lindon!

Off to the Park!

Lindon Days in the park... you just have to go! This year was so fun! We went over after the parade and the boys saw that bull...and went nuts! So we bought a wristband...and away they went! So fun! Hal you were a good sport to try it too...sorry your shoulder is hurting now! (ha ha!) . The bull was so fun and the climbing wall was awesome too!

Trey is going for it! He had "attitude"...poor bull!
Oakley....

Grandpa...he got on and said "just kill me now!"... and so the guy did!

Preston... that #10...rode hard!
Then we headed for the climbing wall!

Grandpa going up!

Presto in bare feet! Good technique!

Trey really got into it...and almost the highest!

Preston's Field of Dreams!

Every home game, the Orem OWLZ welcome a local youth baseball team from the community to be announced with the starting lineup of the OWLZ. As each position of the OWLZ is announced and runs out to his position, a member of the youth team is announced as well and runs out to the field...to the cheers of hundreds! The youth baseball team stays on the field for the national anthem, and then is recognized prior to the start of the game.
On Friday night Preston's baseball team "The Rattlers" were guests of the Orem Owlz at their game! It was so fun! He got to run out with "his" player as he was introduced and had free popcorn and got his baseball and shirt signed by the players! What a great coach to arrange all of that for his team!

Out on the field!

Preston... #10!

All the boys were loving the game!

Lucky #10!

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Happy Birthday Ryan! THE BIG 31!
We love you and we are so glad you belong to us! Hope you had a GREAT day!

Park City Extreme Cup!

This past weekend Taylor and her soccer team The Logan Lynx.... played in the Park City Extreme Cup. We were so excited that she was that close! I went up on Friday night with Abby, Audrey and Sadie and then on Saturday Becca and Hal came with the girls! It was such a fun day and we LOVED watching our beautiful Taylor play! She is AMAZING!
They won all their games and ended up in the championship game on Saturday afternoon. The game was really exciting and they ended up tied and then went into overtime...5 mins on each side... then it was still tied...so they went into Sudden Death! It was heartstopping for Granny's. They went through about 8 rounds and finally the other team kicked a goal and won. It was a bit sad... but you couldn't be too sad because they played so well! The sad part was that this was the last time the Logan Lynx would be playing together! They have been together for the past 5 years and now they are all going their separate ways. Taylor is trying out for the high school team on Monday! Good Luck Tay! We are so proud of you!
This is one special young lady! What a blessing she is to us!

Up the Canyon!

After a long fun day at the pool...we headed up American Fork Canyon for dinner and fun! Matt and Amy brought the chicken and all the fixins! It was delicious! Then we played kick ball...and rode on the zipline! All the kids rode and even ME! Shocking I know... I am NOT a brave and daring person. (that's another thing I can mark off my bucket list I guess!) After the zipline we all got back to our site and had family skits and songs! I love it when Matt and Hal pull out the old guitars and get those oldies goin'! It was such a fun night!
